School Travel Plan
We are currently in the process of developing a school travel plan aimed at reducing traffic congestion and promoting safer routes to school.
The School Travel Plan Team have produced an action plan to address issues highlighted by parents. We hope to be awarded a grant to help us achieve our aims.

Healthy Eating
To promote healthy snacks in school, the School Council, together with Mrs Clarke and Mrs Adams, has set up a fruit stall every Friday playtime.
Pupils are also taught about the importance of eating healthily through the PSHCE and Science curriculum. Mr Jones, PSHCE Co-ordinator, has recently reviewed our Healthy Eating Policy.

Playtime Buddies
Our playtime buddy system ensures that children always have someone to play with. Two buddies patrol each yard offering advice and support to children and playground games ideas.
Anti-Bullying Week
The whole school took part in the national anti-bullying week during the autumn term. Pupils, staff and parents bought wristbands to show their support for the initiative, and the week ended in a celebratory assembly.

First Aiders
Our two first aiders in school are Mrs Welsh and Mrs Clarke. Their most recent training took place in October 2005.
Should you have any medication for your child, please complete a medicine form and hand it in at the school office.
School Nurse
Our school nurse is Elaine Tate. She is based at Wrekenton Health Centre and is available to offer any advice on matters such as head lice. If you would like to discuss anything with her, please contact the school office or telephone 0191 4958503.
