Opening of Woodgate Park

The whole school got the chance to visit Woodgate Park for it's official opening by the Mayor of Gateshead, John Eagle, on Friday 19th June. The Park has received a massive makeover by Gateshead Council as part of a £1.2m scheme to transform 22 parks across the borough by 2011. The children enjoyed an adventure packed afternoon (as did the staff) as they got to grips with some of the parks new play equipment. A pirate ship, a huge climbing tower, a big sand pit and an aerial slide being just a few of the parks new attractions.

Children getting to grips with the new equipment!

(Can you spot Mrs Messenger?)
