STEM@Bill Quay
As part of our curriculum, we have a growing focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). Our commitment is to prepare pupils for future careers by introducing them to STEM opportunities in the form of projects, themed weeks and working with local businesses.
We are passionate about STEM at Bill Quay, particularly coding and robotics. We have a thriving VEX community within school. Pupils in Year 5 and 6 work with VEX IQ, pupils in Year 3 and 4 with VEX GO and our Key Stage 1 pupils work with VEX 1,2,3. Pupils also have the opportunity to participate in First Lego League and the 'Primary Engineer' programme.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated STEM shed at school, but it is very much a work in progress. We are always eager to hear from anyone who might be able to spare some time and/or resources to help us develop it into the valuable learning space that we know it can be. Please contact the school office if you are able to help.
