Gateshead Council Primary School Admissions 2026
Children born between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022 will be eligible to start school Reception in September 2026. The timeline for the application process is as follows:
| 8 September 2025 | Online system opens for parents to apply |
| 15 January 2026 | Closing date for submitting applications |
| 16 April 2026 | Offer letters and emails sent to parents |
| 22 May 2026 | Any places that become available will be offered from the schools waiting list |
| June/July 2026 | Appeals heard |

School Admissions 2027
Children born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023 will be eligible to start school Reception in September 2027. The timeline for the application process is as follows:
| 7 September 2026 | Common Application Form made available online or paper copy (on request only) |
| 15 January 2027 | Closing date for submitting applications |
| 16 April 2027 | Offer letters and emails sent to parents around this date |
| 21 May 2027 | Any places that become available will be offered from the schools waiting list |
