Finding out about parliament

We were very lucky to receive a visit this morning from Gillian, who works for the Parliament Education Service.  She explained what parliament is, where it meets and how it works.  After the assembly, Year 5 children worked with Gillian to create their own political parties and manifestos.  Children then gave a speech to the class in an effort to persuade them to vote for them.  Well done to the ‘Anti-Smoking Party’, who were voted the winners.
