Hindu Temple Visit

Year 3 had a fantastic day out yesterday when they visited a Hindu Temple in Newcastle.  They were  met by Kirtida a Hindu priestess and had the opportunity to experience first hand an authentic Hindu shrine. They all dressed up in Indian costumes and played Indian musical instruments as well as taking part in a mock wedding.  Kirtida demonstrated the traditional arati ceremony of worship practiced by Hindus as well as enjoying Prashad, a traditionally cooked delicious vegetarian lunch.
