Year 2 pupils have decorated scrolls using the letters of the main parts of the Shema, the special Jewish prayer. They will be placed inside a mezuzah, which reminds Jewish people of the importance of loving God with all their heart, mind, soul and strength.

In their first RE topic this term, Year 2 have been focusing on kindness, and exploring the subject through the teachings of Jesus in the Bible. At the end of the topic, they created some role plays to show ways in which they could all be kinder to each other. This one shows a group using British Sign Language to say 'thank-you' when someone shows kindness by holding the door open for them.
In their autumn term music, Year 2 have been exploring and experimenting with rhythm, using tuned and untuned percussion instruments. As part of their learning, they have created sound sentences and selected and organised sounds to accompany verses in songs.
