Family Support

Attendance

School attendance is a parent and student responsibility, and good attendance habits start at an early age.  Making sure that your child goes to school regularly and on time is extremely important.  You can find some attendance tips below and information on the importance of punctuality.

Healthy Relationships Pathway

Being a parent can be tough, so support for families is provided by a wide range of services and settings within Gateshead aimed at improving family relationships.  Their Healthy Relationships Pathway provides group and online programmes to support parenting skills and adult relationships.  Please see the flyers below for more information.

County Lines

County lines is a form of criminal exploitation involving the transport and sale of drugs. It can involve moving drugs and money from one street to the next, or from one end of the country to the other, and the people who do the ‘running’ are often children who have been targeted and groomed into doing so by criminal gangs.  Unfortunately, children as young as 7 have been known to be recruited by gangs who are involved in drug dealing and other criminal activity. Awareness is key, as is early intervention, and knowing how to seek help if you are concerned is important, too.  Please see the e-leaflet below from Northumbia Police for further information.

Gateshead Autism Hub

Parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with autism can find information, advice and support on a range of challenges that can impact autistic young people and their families via the Gateshead Autism Hub.  The hubs provide drop-in sessions, peer support groups and training for parents, carers and professionals.  Please see the brochure below for further information.
