Spring Term

Year 4 pupils have been playing the Theme from Vivaldi's 'Spring' using tuned instruments and following notation.

Year 5 pupils are experimenting with scale patterns. Here they are learning to play Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy' using notes of the C scale and traditional notation.

Here, Year 5 pupils are composing their own alternative melody to the Theme of Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy'

Lockdown Challenge: Creating a Mambo Rhythm with BBC Ten Taster Pieces

Lockdown singing in Year 1 and Reception

During our lockdown, we've been doing some singing on a Thursday morning - live in the classroom and also on the internet at home! See us singing here and doing our actions!

Year 2 Lockdown Singing: Get down with the animals!

In Year 2, we've been learning some new songs all about different animals, including a snowy owl, a donkey, a dolphin and a furry fox! Our cuddly toys have helped us to sing along at home and at school, and they've been very good at doing the actions as well!

Lockdown Music Challenge: Creating Body Percussion Rhythms

We worked together both in the classroom and at home to explore the body percussion sounds we could make, and then to create our own rhythms which we then performed for the whole class. Listen to some of our short compositions:
