Our science topic this half-term is 'Everyday materials' and we have been looking at a range of different objects and the materials that they are made from. We have also explored the properties of materials and utilised the absorbent nature of kitchen paper to grow some rainbows.
Reception made peanut butter bird feeders
Reception planted cress and beans. I hope there is not a giant at the top of our beanstalk!
Reception used the cress they had grown to make egg and cress sandwiches.
Our commando Joes challenge was to help Incy Wincy spider and transport water down the water spout.
During Muddy Monday we replanted our beans so they can grow outside.
Our Commando Joes challenge involved team work we moved together like a spider with 8 legs to navigate obstacles.
For Science Week Reception are growing their own gummy bears.
Reception are learning about the life cycles ofva frog and a butterfly
Reception enjoyed pond dipping and bug hunting during Muddy Monday.
For Science Week Reception made a Skittle rainbow.
