Bill Quay Primary School

Pupil Premium

What is it?

Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools so that they can support their disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap between them and their peers.

At Bill Quay Primary, we use our funding primarily to develop staff professional knowledge and to fund teaching assistants who deliver 1:1 intervention and small group tuition. Intervention strategies include using online resources, such as Lexia, Third Space Learning and Accelerated Reader.

Because we have relatively small numbers of pupils in each cohort who are eligible for pupil premium funding, analysing progress data can be difficult. Progress for all pupils is carefully tracked and those pupils who are underachieving will receive extra support.

In the 2020-2021 financial year, we will receive the following funding:

  • £1320 per pupil for those pupils who have been eligible for free school meals at any point during the last 6 years
  • £2300 for pupils who have been in care or have been adopted
  • £300 for pupils whose parents are in the armed forces.
